Harrison Museum of African American Culture

A celebration of African American culture, the museum features both local and regional historic exhibitions, art displays, and authentic African artifacts. It occupies the first floor of the former Harrison School, the first public high school for African American students in Southwest Virginia. Built in 1916, Harrison School, with its unique architectural design and historical value, is listed in the Virginia Historic Landmark Register and the National Historic Landmark Register.
