The Lynchburg Museum explores the history of Lynchburg and the Virginia Piedmont, including stories about the people and fascinating events that have shaped Central Virginia. Artifacts from Lynchburg’s past are on display – local furniture, fine art, Civil War flags and weapons, antique toys, sports and music memorabilia, historic photographs, and much more. The museum system also operates Point of Honor, an elegant Federal home built in 1815. Both sites are open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, noon – 4 p.m.; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, & New Year's Day.
