Amazing performances at the Jefferson Center
The Jefferson Center is a non-profit performing arts center that offers high-quality performing and visual arts programs, including concerts, dance parties, exhibitions, lectures and artist residencies. The center also supports and facilitates education in the performing arts, through its music lab, artists-in-schools initiative, after-school program for underserved teens, and youth symphony. The center also offers the city’s only improvisational comedy group, “The Big Lick Conspiracy.” Its technologically advanced and awe-inspiring performance and training facilities include Shaftman Performance Hall, a remarkable 1,000-seat venue that hosts the Roanoke Ballet Theatre, Opera Roanoke and the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. Well-known performers appearing at the Jefferson Center include Robert Cray, Bela Fleck and Christian McBride.
