The Sedalia Center
1108 Sedalia School Road / Big Island, Virginia / 24526 / (434) 299.5080

A Festive Atmosphere with Blue Ridge Mountain Backdrop
In 1989, an abandoned elementary school building and the surrounding acres were renovated to serve as the hosting ground for cultural arts festivals and celebrations in the old rural community of Sedalia. The center operates as a non-profit cultural and educational institution. Thousands of people have attended concerts, festivals, plays, Native American pow-wows, classes, workshops, camps, and many other types of events at the center since its inception. Also on the grounds are an American Legion ball field, horse show/livestock ring, an outdoor stage and pavilion. The center often hosts major events in conjunction with area schools and organizations, including concerts, academic competitions and Scout camps. The setting is magnificent, with the Blue Ridge mountains providing a serene backdrop to all activities.
